Terms of Service

Last updated: April 6, 2026

By accessing or using LicenseForge ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all developers ("you") who register an account and use the platform.

1. What LicenseForge Is

LicenseForge provides software licensing infrastructure — tools for generating license keys, validating them via API, binding them to hardware IDs (HWID), and managing subscriptions. We are a technical service provider, not a co-creator or distributor of the software products you build.

We do not review, endorse, or take responsibility for the software you distribute using our licensing system. You are the developer and seller of your product. We are only the licensing layer.

2. Developer Responsibilities

As a developer using LicenseForge, you are solely responsible for:

  • The software you build, sell, and distribute to your customers
  • Ensuring your software and its use comply with all applicable laws in your country and your customers' countries
  • Your relationship with your customers, including refunds, support, and disputes
  • How you market and describe your product
  • Keeping your API keys secure and preventing unauthorized access to your account

3. Acceptable Use

You may use LicenseForge to license any software product that is legal in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to:

  • Desktop applications, utilities, and productivity tools
  • Automation scripts and bots
  • Plugins, extensions, and developer tools
  • Software-as-a-Service products
  • Games and game-related utilities that comply with applicable terms

4. Prohibited Uses

You may not use LicenseForge to distribute or license:

  • Malware, ransomware, spyware, keyloggers, or any software designed to harm users or systems
  • Software that facilitates unauthorized access to computer systems, networks, or accounts (hacking tools)
  • Software designed to scrape, steal, or misuse personal data without user consent
  • Counterfeit or fraudulent software that impersonates other products or companies
  • Any product that violates applicable intellectual property laws
  • Any software that is otherwise illegal under the laws of your country or your customers' countries

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination without refund.

5. Platform Abuse

You may not:

  • Attempt to reverse engineer, bypass, or exploit the LicenseForge platform itself
  • Use the API in ways that cause excessive load or degrade service for other users
  • Share, sell, or transfer your account credentials or API keys to unauthorized parties
  • Attempt to access other developers' accounts, data, or license keys

6. Payments and Refunds

Paid plans are billed via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the selected plan amount on a recurring basis.

  • Subscription fees are non-refundable once the billing period has started and service has been provided
  • You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • If your account is terminated for ToS violations, no refund will be issued
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if:

  • You violate any section of these Terms of Service
  • We receive valid legal requests or complaints regarding your account or products
  • We determine, at our sole discretion, that continued service poses legal or reputational risk

You may also delete your account at any time from the dashboard.

8. Limitation of Liability

LicenseForge is provided as a technical tool only. We are not liable for any losses, damages, legal claims, or business outcomes arising from your use of the platform or from the software you distribute.

In no event shall LicenseForge's total liability to you for any claim exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for: loss of revenue or profits, loss of customers or data, third-party claims against you, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — even if we were advised of the possibility.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free or available 100% of the time.

10. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the software you build. By using LicenseForge, you grant us no license to your product — we only process license key data on your behalf.

The LicenseForge platform, branding, code, and documentation are owned by us. You may not copy, resell, or white-label our platform without written permission.

11. Privacy

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the Service: your email address, payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store card details), and license/product data you create. We do not sell your data to third parties. Your end-users' HWIDs are stored as part of the license validation system and are processed only for that purpose.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered developers via email or an in-dashboard notice at least 7 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of competent jurisdiction where LicenseForge operates.
